You may have seen top ten lists of atheist movies but these are my personal favorites! Some of these movies can be downloaded from pirating sites without upsetting anyone because nobody is profiting from them anymore. I am not responsible for what you download but... LONG LIVE THE PIRATE BAY!

This movie is based on the on the 1925 Scopes "Monkey Trial in which a science teacher is charged with teaching the theory of evolution to his students.

Vianne Rocher runs a chocolate shoppe in a small French village during the 40 days of Lent. She is shunned and demonized for tempting the people of the village during a time of abstinence and self-denial. Oh, and Johnny Depp is in it.

Planet of The Apes is a movie about an astronaut who lands on a distant planet rules by "apes" in the distant future. One of the apes has a theory that "apes" evolved from the less intelligent humans but his theory is considered heresy. Also, notice how the cover for the movie ruins the ending. I love that!
7) The Blind Watch Maker (1987)
In this documentary by Richard Dawkins, based on his book by the same title, he explains how natural selection works and debunks irreducible complexity.
6) Agora (2009)
Agora highlights the conflict between religion and science during the fall of Greco-Roman polytheism and the rise of Christianity in the Roman empire.
5) God On Trial (2008)
During the holocaust, Jewish prisoners in Auschwitz put God on trial.
4) The God Who Wasn't There (2005)
In this documentary, Brian Flemming discusses early Christianity and raises doubt that Jesus Christ even ever existed.
3) The Invention of Lying (2009)
Rickey Gervais plays the role of Mark Bellison who invent the world's first lie. This eventually leads to a religion with him as the prophet for "the man in the sky."

This movie accurately portrays Charles Darwin who attempts to reconcile his revolutionary theory with the religiosity of his wife along with his own faith-crisis.
1) The Ledge (2011)
The Ledge was written and directed by the great great grandson of Charles Darwin, Matthew Chapman. Joe, a fundamentalist Christian, finds out that Gavin has been sleeping with his wife, Shauna. He tells Gavin to jump off the roof of a building to prove his love for Shana despite his disbelief in an afterlife. If he refuses, Shana will be killed.
